GEORGE - Needs your help to get him out of kennels. Wanted a foster or adoptive home. Below is a history of his time with us.
George is a Presa Canario, aged just over 1 Yr now. He is vaccinated and microchipped. He came into rescue at the end of 2016. He spent a few weeks with Rachel - our trainer and behaviourist - who made the following assessment of him at that time when he was about 4 -5 mths. old.
“ He was very underweight, and nervous of meeting people initially (Presa trait) but he was ok when he got to know you. He got on amazingly well with all the other dogs at the Day Care facility I run, and took correction from both people and the other dogs. He was house and crate trained at this time; and by the time he left walked well on the lead”.
After George left Rachel, he went into foster. He would of been adopted by his foster family had there not been a change to the families circumstances which prevented this from happening.
As there was no suitable foster homes available at this time, we had no option but to secure kennel space for him, which is where he is now.
The kennels where he is now, have said that he is a bit unsure of new people and woofs but this is a normal reaction for a Presa Canario. He also seems to prefer smaller dogs to large one.
George needs stability, and the chance to trust again. We need to find him an experienced home, where the family have both the time and experience to help him.
